In December my friend Cory Miller and I held a four part webinar series called SEO Week. The webinar series was a big success and the iThemes team received a lot of positive feedback, so we thought we would extend the education and schedule additional webinars over the next six months.
If you’re taking our online SEO course, these events will be a nice addition on to your educational journey.
Schedule of Upcoming SEO Webinars
April 20th 2:00pm EST – Understanding Search Intent & Content Silos
Search intent simply refers to a human’s intentions when performing a search. When a user searches in Google for “hot dog” did he mean a dog that is hot from the sun or did were he really want results that pertained to the food hot dog? Understanding what the user expected to receive for a given search phrase is search intent.
A content silo (or SEO silo) is a method of grouping related content together to establish the website’s keyword-based topical areas or themes.
It is important to understand both search intent and content silos when performing keyword site mapping for SEO.
In this webinar we’ll explore both topics and explain how they can help in your search engine optimization efforts.
May 25th 2:00pm EST – On-Page SEO Techniques
On-Page content optimization is an important part of website promotion and SEO. You have to go beyond content creation to truly garnish solid and long-term search traffic.
In this webinar we’ll explore the key areas of focus for properly optimization a website page, post, or product for search engine optimization.
Our presentation will cover keyword selection, titles, URLs, headings, content, images, meta definition and hyperlinks.
June 22nd 2:00pm EST – Off–Site SEO Factors
Good SEO isn’t just about the website, it also spans outside of the website. It includes a variety of factors that cover areas that help search engines understand the quality, authority, and trust of your website or blog.
Search engines have been trying for decades to find a way to return the best results for a given search phrase. To do that, they take into account the on-site SEO and off-page SEO factors. There are well over 200 in all and while we won’t go into all 200, we want to make sure you understand the most important ones.
Off-page SEO factors are important because these data points give search engines a better indication of how the world perceives your website or blog. A website that is useful is more likely to have a number of external data points that are created by users outside of the website owner.
In this webinar we’ll discuss the various types of off-page SEO factors and want you can do to improve your search ranking.
July 20th 2:00pm EST – Mastering Local SEO
Local SEO refers to search engine activity related to a small geographical area like a state, county, or city (here in the US). This is different than a national search that would take place at a country or international level.
While there are many areas of local SEO that mimic that of national SEO efforts, there are some nuances that need to be mastered to perform well for local search terms.
This webinar will review what website owners should and should not do when optimizing their website for local search. We’ll discuss the key factors for success and provide tools for optimizing your website presence at the local level.
August 24th 2:00pm EST – What Really Matters With Technical SEO
Technical SEO can be very overwhelming and intimating, but it doesn’t have to be. This webinar will walk through the core areas of technical SEO and present the data at a level of the average user.
You won’t need a degree in coding to have some solid takeaways for improving your website and search ranking with a few technical tweaks.
September 21st 2:00pm EST – e–Commerce SEO
While eCommerce has a lot of nuances to it and the build out is much more involved than a traditional website, the SEO requirements are very similar. This webinar will walk through the most common SEO issues found with eCommerce websites.
We’ll cover:
- Keyword research and site mapping issues
- Product descriptions
- Manufacture numbers
- Breadcrumbs
- Rich snippets
- Social media
- Link building
- XML sitemaps
If you have an existing eCommerce website or are about to launch a new site, this webinar will be a valuable resource for you.
If you cannot attend the SEO webinars live, you can still register and iThemes will provide video recording of the events for you to watch on demand.
