Let’s Help WPBeginner Build a School!

In April I had the pleasure of attending CaboPress with a number of WordPress colleagues. In the mix of this group was Syed Balkhi. While spending some one on one time with Syed, I had the opportunity to play twenty questions with him. I tend to do this with people I meet, because I like to know more about them then you can see on the internet. I like to dig in and I want to learn about their core and their story. Syed has an interesting story and I’m thankful that I had the opportunity to hear it.

Beyond being just wicked smart, Syed has a big heart. Chris Lema first introduced me to him and in the process gave Syed his praise. It was well deserved.

One of my twenty questions (yes I really asked twenty) presented to Syed involved changing the world. I asked what is the one “thing” he would like to see changed in the world. He answered quickly and stated education.

You see, education is Syed’s passion and improving it is his purpose. He explained why this is the case and his story only drew me in further.

The Man Behind WPBeginner

When you visit the WPBeginner website, know that the man behind the site isn’t just brilliant, he is special. He gives back to the world and in particular children.

He knows that children are our future and that nurturing them and providing them opportunities is critical for the world’s development.

You’d never know of Syed’s efforts by talking to him. He is humble and he is genuine. You wouldn’t know that he built a school last year in Guatemala so that he could help children in need.

You wouldn’t know that he is building two new schools again this year and needs your help.

Syed is raising money for two new schools. His goal is $50,000, but I would like to see that much higher and I’m sure he would too. I know we can surpass his goal, because there is a great deal of generosity within our WordPress community and those wonderful users we have throughout the world.
