A hosting transfer will normally cost around $150-$400, depending on the size of your website or blog.   The cost varies based on the number of images, files, and plugins.

Our Recommendations for WordPress Migration

Because we work with a wide range of clients, we’ve used a lot of hosting companies.  Some hosting companies just seem to have issues with a database driven website.  We stay away from those and we encourage our clients to go with hosting companies we know provide excellent support and reliable performance.

For shared hosting environments, we suggest Liquid Web or WP Engine due to their strong technical support and their ability to provide consistently high performance and speed.  For dedicated hosting situations, we prefer Rackspace.  No one beats Rackspace for pre-sales and post-sales support.  Their technology is solid and their technical support team best in class.  And yes, we are an affiliate for BlueHost and a Rackspace partner.  Our recommendations are not monetarily based, but based on performance.  We have aligned with these two firms for a reason and they are all good ones.
